Description
Berk's County Almshouse by John Rasmussen 1880
Rasmussen was a house painter from Reading, Pennsylvania. A self-taught artist, he painted this accurate view of the Berk's County Almshouse in Pennsylvania. In this painting, he even provided accurate generic details such as people working on the grounds and townspeople passing by on the road.
This is an excellent example of American folk art. The original painting hangs in the New York Metropolitan Museum.
This image was created by photographing the original painting with a professional high-definition Leica camera. If you look closely, you can see the individual brushstrokes in the painting. It is not a copy from the internet. With the exceptional photography and exacting standards of color, this guarantees that you get the finest quality possible.
The watermark in the lower right hand corner of the picture does not appear on the final print.
Prints are produced on acid-free paper using archival inks to guarantee they last a lifetime without fading or loss of contrast, color or tone.
If you chose to order a framed print, the framing is done to museum quality with archival matting. The frame is wired and comes with a wall hook. It is ready to hang on the wall.
