Description
Figures on the Beach by Pierre-Auguste Renoir 1890
Renoir loved to paint outdoors by the seashore, especially when he was on holidays.
The standing blond woman is his wife Aline Charigot, who was also his model in many of his paintings. The woman sitting on the sand was his nanny Gabrielle Renard, who was a cousin of his wife Aline.
The boy in the background skipping stones by the seashore is Renoir's son Jean. Jean Renoir himself grew up to become a famous French film director.
This image was created by photographing the original painting with a professional high-definition Leica camera. If you look closely, you can see the individual brushstrokes in the painting. It is not a copy from the internet. With the exceptional photography and exacting standards of color, this guarantees that you get the finest quality possible.
The watermark in the lower right hand corner of the picture does not appear on the final print.
