Description
Seacoast at Trouville by Claude Monet
Trouille-sur-Mer is a small village near Le Havre, France. It faces towards the English Channel. Monet loved to paint seascapes and this image is no exception.
The painting is dominated by a single wind-swept tree, bent sideways by the constant wind blowing off the ocean. The tree sits in a meadow. Just to the left of the tree there is a hint of cows in the distance.
This image shows classic Monet style, where there is a distinct line between the land and the ocean, but a diffuse haze between the ocean and the sky. The blending of the gentle blue brushstrokes of the ocean merges wonderfully with the slightly tinged clouds in the sky.
This image was created by photographing the original painting with a high-definition Leica camera. This guarantees that you get the finest quality possible. The watermark in the lower right hand corner of the picture does not appear on the final print.
