Description
Moulin Rouge Vintage Poster by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec
Toulouse-Lautrec created this exceptional rare vintage Moulin Rouge poster in 1891.
The poster says "Moulin Rouge Concert Ball Every Evening" at the top, while on the bottom of the poster it says "Every Evening Moulin Rouge from Wednesday to Saturday".
The poster also refers to La Goulue, which was the stage name of one Louise Weber, the most famous cancan dancer at the Moulin Rouge. La Goulue was often called the Queen of Montmartre, the district in Paris where the famous Moulin Rouge cabaret is located.
In French, La Goulue literally translates to "the glutton". Louise Weber was famous for grabbing and guzzling patron's drinks while she was dancing.
This image was created by photographing the original poster with a professional high-definition Leica camera. It is not a copy from the internet. With the exceptional photography and exacting standards of colour, this guarantees that you get the finest quality possible.
The watermark in the lower right hand corner of the picture does not appear on the final print.
