Description
These doors are the main entrance to St Vitus's Cathedral in Prague in the Czech Republic. These are magnificent examples of solid copper engraved doors containing allegorical figures. A fitting tribute to Prague's most important church.
Work began on the cathedral in 1344, although it was not finally completed until the twentieth century. The cathedral houses the crown jewels of the Czech Republic as well as the remains of Good King Wenceslas (the one in the famous Christmas carol).
The cathedral is Prague's most distinct landmark, sitting on top of the hill that overlooks the entire city.
