I came across this sled in a barn in Eastern Canada. It was an old sled that had been in the same family since the late 1800s. Originally, the sled had been used to haul wood and other supplies around the family farm. However, as the years progressed the family was able to buy larger and stronger sleds to use around the farm.
The sled sat abandoned in a corner of the family barn for many years. One day, the family decided to pull in out and repaint it in the bright colors you see today and turn it into a sled for the family to use at Christmas.
After being abandoned for so long, the sled took on a new life at Christmas time. It was used to pull the children and the grandchildren around the family farm in the snow.
This old sled that had served the family well for over 100 years then became known as the Christmas sled.
This photograph was taken with a professional Leica medium format camera. The superb quality and high resolution of the camera guarantees that you get the the highest image quality possible. The watermark in the lower right hand corner of the picture does not appear on the final print.
