Description
Ballet Rehearsal on Stage by Edgar Degas
This painting by Degas was exhibited by the artist at the First Impressionist Exposition in Paris in 1874.
Degas was a master of capturing the fluidity of movement. His most memorable paintings were of ballet dancers. This is one of his most famous paintings.
The monochromatic tone of this painting ("Repetition d'un ballet sur la scene" in French) helps highlight the professional movements of the dancers. Notice in particular the two dancers on the far right, who are intensely focussed on the rehearsal and are carefully overseen by the instructor.
This image was created with a high-definition Leica camera. This guarantees that you get the finest quality possible. The watermark in the lower right hand corner of the picture does not appear on the final print.
Prints are produced on acid-free paper using archival inks to guarantee they last a lifetime without fading or loss of contrast, colour or tone.
If you chose to order a framed print, the framing is done to museum quality with archival matting. The frame is wired and comes with a wall hook. It is ready to hang on the wall.
