Description
A Washerwoman at Eragny by Camille Pissarro 1893
Pissarro enjoyed painting the daily rhythms of countryside life. In this scene, he has captured a washerwoman scrubbing linens.
To give the effect of shimmering sunlight in the painting, Pissarro mixed yellow paint into the green of the grass and the trees while the green pigment was still wet.
