Two Dancers on a Stage by Edgar Degas
In this painting the ballet dancers are performing the Ballet of Roses staged by the Paris Opera Company. The view of the two ballerinas is from a box seat beside the stage.
Degas was fascinated by ballet and ballerinas. The two dancers are clearly interacting with each other while a third ballerina is just visible off to the left of the painting.
In this painting, Degas was able to capture the ballerinas in a soft, sensitive light. His detailed brushstrokes of the two women show a sensitivity and understanding of the movement of ballet.
Ballet dancers were Degas' favorite subject matter. This painting is one of his best.
This image of the painting was created by photographing the original picture with a high-definition Leica camera. This guarantees that you get the finest quality possible. The watermark in the lower right hand corner of the picture does not appear on the final print.
Prints are produced on acid-free paper using archival inks to guarantee they last a lifetime without fading or loss of contrast, color or tone.
If you chose to order a framed print, the framing is done to museum quality with archival matting. The frame is wired and comes with a wall hook. It is ready to hang on the wall.
