Two Streams Merging by Miles Whittingham

This stunning photograph of two streams merging was taken in the central highlands of Iceland.

The green stream comes from glacial runoff. The silt in the water turns the water green.

The blue stream comes from a volcanic vent known as a fumarole deep within the rhyolite mountains of Iceland.

The blue stream is rich in manganese and silicates, which turns the water a deep blue. The water was also very hot.

The merging of a glacial stream with a volcanic stream provides a rare and beautiful image.

This photograph was taken with a professional Leica medium format camera. The superb quality and high resolution of the camera guarantees that you get the the highest possible image quality. The watermark in the lower right hand corner of the picture does not appear on the final print.

Prints are produced on acid-free paper using archival inks to guarantee they last a lifetime without fading or loss of contrast, colour or tone.
