Description
**Watermark Not on Final Print**
This soft study is a rare example of Leonardo's drawing skills. It was a study in preparation for his painting "Virgin and Child with St. Anne and a Lamb in a Landscape", which was done sometime between 1510 and 1515.
This drawing is an excellent example of Leonardo's sfumato (smoky) technique where he worked red and black chalk together to create a seamless transition in tone. The result is a striking figure with an almost sculptural presence.
This image was captured using a high-resolution Leica camera. This guarantees that you get the finest quality possible. The watermark in the lower right hand corner of the picture does not appear on the final print.
