Ferrari 166 Design Studies
This rare and unique drawing was made in 1948. It comes from the Ferrari family archives. It shows design studies for various potential body styles for the new Ferrari 166 vehicle.
This artwork comes from the Milan coach builder Touring, who are celebrated for their designs that focussed on control of form.
This particular artwork is important because it shows the beginnings of Ferrari's evolving visual identity. In particular, Touring's use of the Superleggera (super light) construction system, which was composed of an aluminum skin supported by thin steel tubes.
This image would make a fine addition to any Ferrari enthusiast's collection.

This image was created by photographing the original blueprint with a professional high-definition Leica camera. It is not a copy from the internet. With the exceptional photography and exacting standards, this guarantees that you get the finest quality possible.
The watermark in the lower right hand corner of the picture does not appear on the final print.
Prints are produced on acid-free paper using archival inks to guarantee they last a lifetime without fading or loss of contrast, colour or tone.
If you chose to order a framed print, the framing is done to museum quality with archival matting. The frame is wired and comes with a wall hook. It is ready to hang on the wall.
