Description

This is the ruin of what is known as a step well. It was a community well where people would walk to the bottom of the steps to collect their water. Unfortunately, over the centuries the water table has dropped (due to overuse) and the well is now dry. The caretaker told me that there is sometimes water in the bottom of the well during the rainy season.
