Description
Charles Bridge Plaque 2 by Miles Whittingham
This plaque sits below the statue of St John of Nepomuk on the Charles Bridge. It is the only statue on the bridge and the only one made of metal.
This plaque shows the queen witnessing Saint John of Nepomuk being thrown off the bridge by orders of the king. He subsequently drowned. This is one of the most memorable stories in Prague's history.
Most visitors to Prague who cross the Charles Bridge rub this plaque because it is thought to bring good luck.
This photograph was taken with a professional Leica camera. The superb quality and high resolution of the camera guarantees that you get the the highest image quality possible. The watermark in the lower right hand corner of the picture does not appear on the final print.
Prints are produced on acid-free paper using archival inks to guarantee they last a lifetime without fading or loss of contrast, colour or tone.
This image can be ordered as a print in any format. Prints can be ordered up to 4 feet wide.
