Description
Charles Bridge Plaque 1 by Miles Whittingham
This plaque sits below the statue of St John of Nepomuk on the Charles Bridge. It is the only statue on the bridge and the only one made of metal.
Most visitors to Prague who cross the Charles Bridge rub this dog because it is thought to bring good luck. The dog symbolizes fidelity and the knight on the left symbolizes duty. In the background to the right is the queen praying for the soul of St John of Nepomuk, who she had witnesses drowning in the river on orders of the king (represented by the plaque to the right of this one and shown in the photograph Charles Bridge Plaque 2).
This photograph was taken with a professional Leica camera. The superb quality and high resolution of the camera guarantees that you get the the highest image quality possible. The watermark in the lower right hand corner of the picture does not appear on the final print.
Prints are produced on acid-free paper using archival inks to guarantee they last a lifetime without fading or loss of contrast, colour or tone.
This image can be ordered as a print in any format. Prints can be ordered up to 4o inches wide.
