Description
Big Raven by Emily Carr
In west coast indigenous culture, the raven is viewed as the creator of the world and the one who brought light to the darkness.
In this painting, Carr shows a large wooden totemic raven cast against the sky. The sky is lite in graduated tones.
The abstract depiction of the raven combined with the geometric sky leads a deep spirituality to this image.
This image was created by photographing the original painting with a professional high-definition Leica camera. If you look closely, you can see the individual brushstrokes in the painting. It is not a copy from the internet. With the exceptional photography and exacting standards of color, this guarantees that you get the finest quality possible.
The watermark in the lower right hand corner of the picture does not appear on the final print.
