Description
**Watermark Not on Final Print**
Argenteuil is a town on the banks of the Seine River just outside of Paris. Manet at the time was visiting his good friend and fellow Impressionist painter Claude Monet. In fact, the models in this painting are Claude Monet's wife Camille and Monet's son Jean.
This picture was Manet's attempt at plein-air (outdoor) Impressionism. He is clearly emulating his friend Monet's style (no wonder people confuse their Manet's with their Monet's!).
In this image, Manet uses bright vivid colours and quick strokes to set the scene during the afternoon summer light. Notice in particular the rippling effect on the water and the serene reflection of the boats. Brilliant!
This image of the painting was created by photographing the original picture with a high-definition Leica camera. This guarantees that you get the finest quality possible. The watermark in the lower right hand corner of the picture does not appear on the final print.
Prints are produced on acid-free paper using archival inks to guarantee they last a lifetime without fading or loss of contrast, colour or tone.
If you chose to order a framed print, the framing is done to museum quality with archival matting. The frame is wired and comes with a wall hook. It is ready to hang on the wall.
