Description
The Card Players by Paul Cezanne
This is perhaps Cezanne's most famous painting. It shows two farmhands sitting in a tavern playing cards. One man is smoking a pipe while both are intensely focussed on their cards.
This scene is a study of quiet contemplation. The two players are balanced but also asymmetric. Both men are wearing hats and loose fitting cloths.
The composition, the colour and the tone plus the subtle detains (like the smoke coming out of the pipe) all contribute to making this a classic Impressionist painting. This particular painting hangs in the Musee d'Orsay in Paris.
This image was created with a high-definition Leica camera. This guarantees that you get the finest quality possible. The watermark in the lower right hand corner of the picture does not appear on the final print.
Prints are produced on acid-free paper using archival inks to guarantee they last a lifetime without fading or loss of contrast, colour or tone.
If you chose to order a framed print, the framing is done to museum quality with archival matting. The frame is wired and comes with a wall hook. It is ready to hang on the wall.
