Description
These old wagon wheels were just propped up against the side of a barn. Some of the wagon wheels had been overgrown with weeds.
Wagon wheels were typically made by wheelwrights and were often repaired by the village blacksmith. These wagon wheels look like they came from farm wagons. Farmers would often keep wagon wheels off old wagon (just like today people keep old car tires) as spares in case one of the wheels from their new wagon needed replacing. This is why they are often found lying around old farmsteads.
Some of the wagon wheels in this picture still have part of their wooden rim.
