Description
This is New York City Center on 55th Street in Manhattan. It is one block south of Carnegie Hall in distance but a light year away in style. This 2,257 seat Moorish-style theatre was built in 1923 (thus the interesting exterior shown in this image) and is the home of several different dance groups.
At the time this theatre was built, it was New York's first performing arts theatre )it predates Carnegie Hall). Architecturally, the style is known as neo-Moorish, although to me it looks incredibly cool, especially with a New York City cab in the photograph.
